[and she hangs up to go. Oh. That was abrupt. Either way, she'll be there on the edge of the sinkhole, peering in.]

[ He traipses over, hand raised half in greeting, and half to know that he's seen her. ]

Lanteeeee, hello! I'll ask if you're doing well and all of that, but first we have to jump to the bottom of this sinkhole!

Ready? [She grabs his hand.

They're literally going to jump.]

[ To his credit, the only thing betrays his surprise is a quirked eyebrow-- it's a long drop, it's hell of a splat he's going to make if he hurtles down at terminal velocity. Very messy, not quite pleasant.

But. But! Morgan's kept him safe more than a couple of times. He trusts her that much.

(He has this distinct feeling that this might come back and bite him in the proverbial ass some day.) ]

Conversations later, jumping now, got it. Ready!

[Lante, you really trust her too much.... except in this case, his trust will be rewarded. She tugs him with her, and then she jumps, pulling him right off the edge with her--

And she draws a magic circle in the air, and their fall slows to a reasonable pace, as if it's being cushioned--

Until they're nearly at the very bottom, at which point the magic circle flickers and disappears, and they drop the last foot or two to the ground. Harmless, though, even if Morgan hates the way her magic basically disappears in this place.]

[ Isn't the point of magic to make this kind of thing redundant? At least...halfway? ]

Nnnnope! I can't yet! Zohra can, but I haven't learned that spell yet... Right now, I'm working on Karasagi--that one lets me make balls of light to see by!

[she hums thoughtfully, shaking her head.]

Buuuut learning new magic from another world is always tricky.
